What is the average processing time for passport and Consular Report of Birth Abroad applications submitted in person at the Embassy?
If you were advised on the day of your interview that your application was approved, you should allow approximately two weeks for your passport and three to four weeks for your child’s CRBA (if born within the consular district). CRBAs for children born outside of the consular district will require additional time for processing. Due to high demand, American Citizen Services units are unable to provide routine status updates for applications within the standard processing timeframe. Standard processing times for all services are approximate. Times quoted should be used only as a guide.
